Mayleen Ramey spent her childhood years overseas and by age 10, she spoke 3 languages, lived on 5 continents, and had already been playing tennis for 7 years. With a tennis teaching pro as a mother, Mayleen started playing at a very young age and continued to train and compete until she graduated from high school. After graduation, Mayleen followed her long-time dream of moving to California and enrolled at UC Santa Barbara, where she graduated with a degree in Business Economics. Instead of pursuing a more traditional career path, Mayleen tried her hand at television hosting and, as fate would have it, booked her first audition. She very quickly went from spreadsheets and financial reports to the exciting world of entertainment and sports.
As one of the original VJ’s for mtvU— MTV’s college network— Mayleen landed any 20-something’s dream job and traveled the country, hosting shows and interviewing the hottest music acts. Since then she’s been on many red carpets as a correspondent for E! News, TV Guide and CelebTV. And has worked on dozens of racetracks, covering the new extreme motor sport—drifting— as a host on ESPN, G4, Nat Geo Adventure. She also hosted “Six Degrees of X”, a reality competition featuring Carmen Electra and produced for Sony International, as well the quirky web sensation, “The Yahoo! Talent Show”. Currently, Mayleen is a red carpet correspondent for entertainment website, Radar Online and MTV. She also hosts “Destination Tennis”, a tennis/travel show on the Tennis Channel.
Off-camera, Mayleen works as a relationship & dating advice columnist for nationally-circulated Audrey Magazine, as well as a marketing consultant for a start-up travel website. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, dancing, learning languages, experiencing great food and new adventures. Mayleen is determined to continue on this path of achieving her dreams, while loving and appreciating every moment of way.
